StarSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate, and interpretive skating. Lessons are taught in group and/or private lesson formats. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through the nationally standardized testing system.
When is it?
Monday – Friday as scheduled HERE
Regular Season: September 2, 2025 - March 21, 2026
Who is it for?
Skaters who have completed the Junior Starskate program and are interested in furthering their figure skating career.

NCCP Certified Coaches
What will they learn?
The StarSkate program consists of figure skating skills in five areas – skating skills, ice dance, free skate, artistic and synchro. Each area is divided into a variety of levelled assessments.
What can you expect?
Coaches teach lessons in each of the disciplines. Skaters will undergo testing once skills are mastered. Skaters may also choose to enter competitions.
What do you need to participate?
Figure skates fitted from a skate shop – ProSkate (Edmonton) or United Cycle (Edmonton) are used by club members.
What is the cost and volunteer requirements?
Full Time: $755.00. Skaters can be on the ice during all StarSkate sessions at their skill level.
8 hours of volunteer time is required
Associate Members: Not available for the 2025-2026 season.
Drop In Star Skaters
We welcome drop ins! Skaters must be registered with a Skate Canada club and must provide their Skate Canada number. A fee of $30.00 per session, payable in advance, is applicable for participation in regular season StarSkate sessions.
Please note that we are revamping our drop in policy and that the final conditions may be slightly different than listed below. Available drop in sessions will be limited to specific times per week.
Drop-in participation is permitted, provided that:
- permission from the club and a coach is obtained at least 24 hours in advance by contacting the club at stettlerfscpresident@gmail.com; and
- the session is not at full capacity.
Please note:
Each skater will need to contact a coach to arrange lessons - lessons fees not included in your skating fees and will be billed monthly from the coach.
Competition entry fees and test fees will be in addition to the registration fee.
